Grampy's Games Team

Grampy (aka Fred Engel) started Grampy’s Games as a way to keep in touch with his west coast grandchildren. Returning from a visit where he played games with the kids for hours, he decided to build Grampy’s Games as a way of keeping that connection. After a programming absence of many decades, Grampy decided to relearn how to program and started building Grampy’s Games.

I (Grampy) am the founder and main driver of it all. I do have help, though. Lacy, Fiona, James, and Auden have been diligent testers and the inspiration for new features. Claire and Kim have kept the kids busy and provided great feedback. Barb has been keeping everything rolling.

The site is totally self-funded and I hope to keep it that way. I want to provide a service for others who have far away relations and friends. I'd like others to experience the fun of hanging out and playing games with kids who are not nearby.

Whatever the cause of the distance: extended family, military, business, divorce, or just location, connecting with kids you care about is our mission. The website is free, as there are many people who could benefit from the experience of connecting with the remote kids in their lives.

At some point, there will be a donation button for contributions. We will probably add advertising to help pay the bills.
